Alberta - Critters - Part 2

I jsut had to share a few more photos of the critters we saw along the road side. The ground hog (well I think that is what it is - let me know if you know different) was so cute and there were 20-30 of them - living in a colony - like our prairie dogs - cute little fellas. The grand bull elk was right on the shoulder of the road eating little yellow flowers. He was a magnificent speciman - it nice to know that he is out here breeding making others just like him in the spring. He definiently stopped traffic. These mountain goats were also right on the side of the road - they were chowing down on some minerals in the rocks - not bothered at all by the traffic.

We did not have to look too far for this incredible bull elk - he had the traffice standing still - he was magnificnet and he knew he was safe inside the Park grounds. It's just nice to know that his guy will be making some babies in the spring. The mulie was in the middle of town grazing on a ladies flowers. I suppose that is one of draw backs to living in at area. These mountain goats were working very hard on the minerals they found in those rocks right by the road as well.
