Alberta - Rafting Athabasca River - Jasper

We just had to get wet in this gorgeous river. So we signed up for a rafting tour of the Athabasca River. It really was not all that wicked, only a Class II...... We wanted the run a Class III, but that river was too low to navigate. These rivers is made from glacial melting, needless to say it was very cold. Once we had a few large over the front waves that went down into your west suit you got a bit use to the cold. After a while we were encouraged to jump over and do a bit of swimming - which at first you had to say "hell no" - then you thought about it and realized your only go around once and you just might not make it back here again - so we all did it, jumped in the frigid waters and jumped out just as fast - but we all three went completely under and really had a blast.......you really must go rafting if even your give the chance.
