Namibia - Road Trip - Amani 4

This is a sad story. Both of these lions where found in the wild and was taken home to be raised as pets. When they became too much to handle, they where put into very small cages and were not well taken care of. They were going to put them down, when Amani heard of the pending doom, they paid to have them shipped in. When they received them, they were both hairless, their diet and living conditions had cause such stress that they lost all there hair/fur. With time and a lot of care, they are both magnificent specimens. The female has been sterilized, because Amani does not feel that it is right to breed in captivity. However, he continues to try :). As the sunset the lions would roar over and over again - it made you feel like you were really in Africa.

They also roar off and on during the night and really sing in the early morning.
