Britt and Martin's Visit to Far East - Part 3

 

Leaving at 4 am to drive cross country to the Mersing (about 4-5 hrs) - then a Ferry ride (about 2 hrs) to Tioman Island !!!

 

Our little Honda CRV - was packed to the ceiling in the back and between everyone except Scott - we all felt like sardines !!!

 

Load UP everyone has to pull their own weight - of course the guys carried more !!!

 

Talk about sardines - I hate this part - this folks have no sense of private space - and there are no rail stiles like at Six Flags to keep them in their place - if you want to have space you have to push back - I hate it !!!

 

So pleased to make it on the Ferry and find seats together !

Martin got up on the bow of the ferry to retrieve our cooler - VERY necessary !!!

Martin and Britt's home away from home !!  They only had half of this "deluxe" room !!!   (LOL)

 

 

That could kill ya from that distance - steer clear !!

 

Here kitty kitty - Scott and Britt both are suckers for critters - I think Martin is too, but he doesn't show it as much - of course me too, but someone has to say NO !!!

The four days that we were on Tioman - the tide would go "way" out - sure wish I had a metal detector handy !!!

 

Scott and I decided to take a walk over the hill to the next town - WRONG !!  We didn't make it very far - the "hill" was a steep mountain - too old and not the right kind of shoes !!

Very special day - Martin proposed to Britt at sunset on August 21st - she said YES !!!

 

 

He did WHAT !!!  Of course Scott knew, Martin did the appropriate, asking for her hand from both of her dads - so it was a surprise to me !!!  It was a blessing to be a part of their excitement - so much better for me than a long distance phone call.  Thanks Martin!

We are very blessed to have Martin as our "soon to be" son-in-law.

Britt and Martin's first dive day !  Scott and I stayed and dove off the beach to get our new equipment a work out.

 

Of course - you didn't think Scott would leave his laptop now did you !!!

 

We met them at the pier after their dive - they had a blast !!!

 

We took them to Tekek - another town on the island just to show them around.

These underwater photos are taken with Walmart water cameras - no flash - but I can't wait until we go diving again, I have a water case for my digital camera and I sure hope the photos turn out much better - stay tuned !!

About a 30 minute walk up to a fresh water waterfall - it was gorgeous and we all could have just hung out there for a day, but we had to get back to the island tour.

 

 

Scott jumping - gee hope it's deep enough - parents are suppose to set examples - hmmm - he didn't read the manual - did he ?

 

 

Ok, he survived !!!   Yes I would jump off a cliff, if he said too !!!  Duh !!

Time to leave - Britt and Martin have to be at the airport in KL by 6:30pm - hustle up ferry !!!

 

They made their flight and they were off to Bangkok for 3-4 days, then to Phuket for another 3-4 days, then to Phi Phi Island for the last few days of their 21 day adventure !!!
