Balikpapan, Indonesia - 2013 (Feb)

We arrived in Balikpapan to stay with our friends - The Stegall's

The Paramesware was out at anchor about a 30 minute ferry ride out.

James was the project manager on this project and Scott was there give him some pointers.

Becca and I had to find some of the local antiques - and - boy did we the only problem was to get them at a great price and then find a way to get them shipped back to the states.  The shipping didn't turnout to be an issue, these guys don't sell anything for days and they won't come down on the prices either - so they got to keep all of what I wanted - :(  

Oh, but I didn't home back home with out anything - are you kidding - me empty handed - Never !! 

Purchased several loose stone, will have to see about getting them made at some point when I' home long enough. 

Ohhhhh, Precious !!!! 

 

Becca really liked this ring, but we had to pass - we won't sure of the vendor.

These guys are down right wicked with these coconuts.  They sell the meat and the milk !

Local Market's nothing is refrigerated - NOTHING !!

This woman wanted me to take her photo - she was proud of her chickens !

The streets are all like this - it is amazing that cars, delivery trucks, motorcycles, pedestrians, etc all share the road - it is very scary just to walk - vehicles mirrors clip you all the time!!
